A Nucleus Colony or "nuc" is a a small, established, and fully functional honey bee colony (family of thousands of bees) living in a portable box. Inside the box are frames, which the bees use as a foundation to build and maintain their colony. The name is derived from the fact that a nuc hive is centered on a queen, the nucleus of the honey bee colony.
Each 5-frame nuc includes:
- A healthy, freshly bred, laying queen for 2026
- Four frames buzzing with vibrant worker bees
